James Dawson Employee’s Celebrate a Combined 160 years of Service

Four James Dawson employees – Gary Fereday, Anthony Brayford, Alvin York and Peter Owers – have each met the remarkable milestone of 40 years’ continuous service with the Lincoln-based global engineering firm.

In total, the four have accumulated 160 years’ service with the business, having joined the firm in the mid-1970s.

They were congratulated by a gathering of colleagues keen to show their appreciation, and presented with long-service certificates by Operations Director Lee Metcalfe.

Peter Wressell, HR Director at James Dawson, said: “We must firstly congratulate Gary, Tony, Alvin and Peter on achieving this incredible milestone.

“Our Operations Director Lee Metcalfe was at pains to point out that they all started working for James Dawson before he was even born!

“In all seriousness, though, we must thank them each for their incredible loyalty to the business and the valuable contribution they’ve made in their time with us so far.

“In a day and age where both the opportunity and desire to remain with the same employer are limited, it is heartening to find a group of people willing to commit their careers to one company – and it also shows the strength and success of James Dawson to be able to offer such an opportunity.

“James Dawson endeavours to create a friendly yet dynamic working culture conducive to such commitment, in which people can develop their skills and careers as we work together to creating innovative, industry-leading engineering solutions for our global customers.”

James Dawson develops and manufactures high performance silicone and organic rubber hoses for a wide range of diverse markets, significantly diesel engine applications.  Key customers include global giants Caterpillar, JCB and Cummins and many other major OEMs around the world.
