Supporting the John Egging Trust

James Dawson was happy to support the Jon Egging Trust by hosting a delegation of children from St George’s Academy in Sleaford for a manufacturing activity morning.

The Jon Egging Trust offers long-term support to vulnerable young people who are struggling to engage at school and may have lost focus, confidence and self-belief. James Dawson opted to support the organisation through their “Blue Skies Inspire Package (BSIP)” programme, which provides bespoke impact days or a short series of sessions to young people aged 12+, according to needs of the school.

To support the programme, staff at James Dawson organised a mini factory tour to give the students an overview of our Silicone Hose manufacturing operation before taking them over to our lab for some team-based activities. The pupils were split into multiple teams and had to complete multiple tasks, from the classic of building the tallest tower out of marshmallows and spaghetti that can support an apple, to selecting the best hose to withstand our hose pressure testing.

It was a pleasure to host the young people within the laboratory, they were all engaged and showcased their ability to work as a team, and to listen carefully to instructions. They were a pleasure to work with and we look forward to hosting future groups.

JET are really excited to be in partnership with James Dawson. They organized an inspiring day for our BSIP students, who came away having worked on their teamwork and communication skills as well as growing in confidence. These sessions are truly impactful, showing the students the possibilities that are on their doorsteps and giving them a chance to develop skills to unlock their potential. Thank you James Dawson and we look forward to growing the partnership to offer more students these opportunities.
